Green Jazz 2010 Initiative

The Atlanta Jazz Festival received the 2009 Greener Festival Award.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival’s Green Jazz 2010 Initiative represents an ongoing commitment to sustainability in recycling, transportation and event administration.  We will continue and expand our comprehensive waste management and recycling program which will include:

- Recycling Center – deposit center for cans and plastic beverage containers
- Biodiesel recycling plan for waste vegetable oil from concessions
- Food Vendors will be required to use paper products versus styrofoam
- Eco-friendly Transportation: Public Transit, car pooling, walking & bike riding
- All printed collateral on recycled paper
- Green Host Hotel Partner  - Loews Atlanta Hotel
- Use of our online mediums – Website, Facebook, Twitter – to promote the festival thereby using less paper and ink
