The Atlanta Jazz Festival received the 2009 Greener Festival Award.
The Atlanta Jazz Festival is committed to sustainability in areas of recycling/waste and residuals, transportation, energy, event administration and operation. Each year, the Atlanta Jazz Festival will concentrate, add and evaluate various sustainable features to the festival.

2012 GOALS
- Reduction in printed collateral by using online mediums – Website, Facebook, Twitter
- All printed collateral on recycled paper
- Recycling Center – deposit center for cans and plastic beverage containers – ReMix Recycling
- Biodiesel recycling plan for waste vegetable oil from Food Vendors will be required to use paper products versus Styrofoam
- Eco-friendly Transportation Promotion: Public Transit, car pooling, walking & bike riding

Jazz Eco Village is an initiative of the Atlanta Jazz Festival. The Festival is produced by the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs, a division of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
