Ray Cornelius is one of Atlanta’s hottest entertainment journalists and media personalities. His website, RayCornelius.com spotlights the latest in “positive” African-American celebrity and entertainment news and was established in 2012.
Since that time, Ray has interviewed some of the biggest and brightest names in television, film, music, theater, fashion and pop culture. He has also covered such national award shows and festivals including the “BET Hip Hop Awards,” “ESSENCE Festival,” “Bounce Trumpet Awards,” “Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Awards,” “BMI R&B and Hip Hop Awards,” SCAD’s aTVfest” and “Triumph Awards.” He has also been invited to “NBC Press Day” in L.A. and Chicago and most recently the “Press Supporting Press” event for TV One’s “2020 Urban One Honors.”
Ray has served as a “Pop Culture Expert” on Fox TV’s newest entertainment show, “Central Ave” and was the Red Carpet Correspondent for ASPIRE TV’s “In the Loop” segment during the 2018 “American Black Film Festival.” He also hosted of the “Sunday Brunch with the Brothers” event during the 2018 “BronzeLens Film Festival,” “Facebook Live!” Interviews during the 2018 “SCAD Savannah Film Festival” and returned to the “BronzeLens Film Festival” in 2019 to moderate a panel discussion with the stars of TV One’s “ATL Homicide.” He most recently co-hosted the Atlanta production of AHF’s “World AIDS Day Concert” featuring Deborah Cox, Raheem DeVaughn and KCamp.
Cornelius has nearly 25 years of media experience and has worked as a radio and print media sales executive for both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Jazz 91.9 WCLK. He has also served as an associate producer for the Emmy-winning public affairs television show, “ATL Insider” and has worked with such renowned entertainment brands as “Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre,” “Soul Train Music Awards” and “Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show.”
One of his career highlights was meeting his media idol—OPRAH WINFREY in 2015.
Cornelius currently hosts and executive produces “UPFRONT Inside the Entertainment Industry” for Jazz 91.9 WCLK. The 30-minute magazine features stars from TV, film, theater, and more and airs every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. In addition, Ray also creates and produces content for CAU-TV 23 and his YouTube channel, RayCorneliusTV.
He also owns Ray Cornelius Productions, LLC which is the umbrella company for RayCornelius.com, Ray Cornelius TV and RAY CORNELUS PRESENTS TV/Film projects.
