Thank you for supporting the 42nd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival
The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs is thankful for 42 years of continuous community support for one of the Atlanta’s longest running traditions.
For 42 years, the Atlanta Jazz Festival has been a summer staple for the city that celebrates jazz’s rich cultural expression with our residents and visitors alike. We thank everyone who helped us celebrate our best jazz festival to date!
We kicked off May with yet another successful 31 Days of Jazz series, providing unique, jazz-enriched experiences throughout the city. From the breathtaking views of Colony Square’s Jazz in the Sky to city parks with our beloved Neighborhood Jazz Series, the city was filled with the wonderful sounds of jazz throughout the month.
Jazz festival weekend was blessed with record crowds and Piedmont Park proved yet again to be the perfect venue for one of the best concert weekends in festival history!
This year, the Atlanta Jazz Festival presented an exciting array of talent on three stages that displayed the vitality of jazz music and its continued impact on our culture. From artists like Kandace Springs, Christian Sands, Makaya McCraven, Richard Bona, the Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra, and more, the festival was a testament to the dynamic and diverse power of jazz!
None of this would be possible without the support of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Atlanta City Council. We also want to acknowledge the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Inc’s Board of Directors, the Atlanta Jazz Society, our sponsors, media partners, and especially the jazz musicians whose support and contributions helped make this event a success.
Again, the City of Atlanta thanks you and we will see you next year!
Yours in art & culture,
Camille Russell Love
